7. Data Retention

• Active Accounts: Data retained while account is active
• Inactive Accounts: Data is retained indefinitely unless a formal deletion request is submitted by the account holder
• Deletion Requests: Users may submit a formal request for data deletion through our Data Deletion Request Form. Requests are reviewed by the Super Administrator and processed within 30 business days
• Legal Requirements: Certain data (financial records, audit logs, government-related records) may be retained beyond deletion requests as required by Pakistani law, including the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016, the Income Tax Ordinance 2001, and the Anti-Money Laundering Act 2010
• Backups: May contain data for up to 30 days after the deletion is processed

8. Legal Framework & Compliance

RentOyee operates in compliance with the following laws and regulations of Pakistan:

• Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016: Governs electronic data processing, cyber security, and privacy in digital transactions
• Pakistan Telecommunication (Re-organization) Act 1996: Governs telecommunication-based data handling (SMS, OTP)
• Electronic Transactions Ordinance (ETO) 2002: Provides legal recognition for electronic documents and digital signatures
• National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Ordinance 2000: Governs CNIC-based identity verification
• Companies Act 2017: Governs corporate record-keeping requirements
• Income Tax Ordinance 2001: Requires retention of financial records for a minimum of 7 years

In the event of any conflict between this policy and applicable Pakistani law, the law shall prevail.

9. Your Rights

Under applicable Pakistani law and international best practices, you have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data held by RentOyee
• Correction: Update inaccurate or incomplete information
• Deletion: Submit a formal data deletion request via our Data Deletion Request Form. Data will only be deleted upon your explicit request and after review by the Super Administrator
• Data Portability: Export your data in a common format
• Objection: Object to certain data processing activities
• Restriction: Request restriction of processing in certain circumstances

Important: RentOyee does not automatically delete user data. Your data will remain stored securely until you submit a formal deletion request. This ensures no accidental loss of important business records.

10. Cookies & Tracking

RentOyee uses cookies for:

• Session management and authentication
• User preferences and settings
• Security tokens (CSRF protection)

We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking across other websites.

11. Children's Privacy

RentOyee is a business service not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

12. International Data Transfers

Your data is primarily processed and stored in Pakistan. If data is transferred internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Gujranwala, Punjab, Pakistan.
